After Irma, Disney and Universal return to active; Sea World remains closed

After Hurricane Irma passed, Florida theme parks in the United States began to return to activity on Tuesday (12). Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, closed since the weekend, were the first to reopen, with the exception of Typhoon Lagoon water parks and Disney’s Blizzard Beach.

Magic Kingdom (from 9am to 7pm), Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom (9am to 9pm), plus the Disney Springs Space (10am to midnight) worked without major changes.

On Universal’s side, [Universal] Studios, Island of Adventure and Volcano Bay were reopened at normal times on Tuesday. In addition, the Halloween Horror Nights event, scheduled to begin on Friday (15), has been confirmed, while theme hotels also operate normally.

The Kennedy Space Center in Port Canaveral and Sea World remained closed on Tuesday, but are confirmed to be open until Wednesday morning (13). Legoland, meanwhile, is without power and has no plans to resume activities, such as the Orlando Eye Ferris wheel.
