Beach charms unite wildlife, flora and sea turtles

Located on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, Muğla Province, Iztuzu beach receives 24-hour surveillance from the local environmental guard. The reason for having its five kilometers of protected beaches are the magical sea turtles, which use the spawning place between the months of March to September.

Known as Tartarugas Beach, Istuzu is the first environmental preservation area established by the country. The preservation site also covers the surrounding mountains, the forests of Pinus and Liquidambar, the flooded lands of the Dalyan River estuary and the region of Lake Köyceğiz, considered one of the largest in the country.

Almost always empty, this lovely beach is a haven of peace and quiet away from the lights and noise of hotels, bars and traffic. Located near the archaeological site of Kaunos and Sultaniye hot springs (pools of hot mud and mineral water with beneficial properties for health).
