British airline crewmember strike to be extended for another 28 days

In a year marked by a series of employee protests, British Airways has just received one more bad news: British airline crew members, who started a two-week strike on Wednesday (19), have just announced another stoppage soon After the end of this period, between the 2 and 15 August.

In total, it will be 28 days of strike of the employees of the air. The decision was announced by Union Unite, which represents some 1,400 BA employees.

“British Airways’ attempts to bribe the crew with a € 250 bonus represent a crude attempt to divide us, but in the end they will fail,” said union representative Oliver Richardson. “Such BA actions will only serve to increase the determination of our members and the support they are receiving from the public and politicians.”

The initial reason for the strike, salary brackets, has been settled, but now the protests are against retaliations that strikers on other occasions have suffered, as union spokesman Alex Flynn said in June. Sanctions include withdrawal of travel concessions and other benefits.

British is already conducting a wet lease agreement with Qatar Airways to maintain unrestricted flights and activities.
