The recently inaugurated Hotel Xcaret Mexico won the EarthCheck certificate in Planning and Design after the EarthCheck Inner Circle forum was held in Quintana Roo, Mexico.

EarthCheck is a global organization of business consultants specializing in sustainability and this certificate is recognized for architectural, construction and sustainability projects. “Good design must incorporate operational metrics and adopt a complete systems approach. EarthCheck standards are structured to help tourism projects become not only great places to visit and work, but also to improve the quality of life of local communities, “said Stewart Moore, CEO and founder of EarthCheck.

Sustainability is one of the main pillars of the Hotel Xcaret Mexico and precisely because of this the hotel was built after planning and geological, environmental and aquatic studies to complete the resort that preserves all the ecosystems.

The resort has programs for the conscious use of water and electricity, as well as boosting the region’s economy and reducing carbon emissions.
