Miami International Airport (MIA) is the first airport in the world to bring Mobile Passport Control, the rapid entry process in the United States, during the airport’s own application experience.

US citizens and Canadian visitors arriving in Miami can now use the MIA Airport Official app to send details to the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). After that, they receive a bar code on the phone, introduce it and are allowed to enter the country.

Technology

As part of the official MIA application, the new mobile service, part of SITA iBorders TravelAuthorization, builds on the personal travel assistant experience already offered to Miami travelers.

The provision of such services through mobile devices enables direct communication with travelers who support the safe pre-release and helps to expedite the passenger’s journey.
