More than R$ 700 were moved during the Festivals Juninas

The traditional June festivities generated good results for the tourism sector in the country, with special emphasis on destinations in the Northeast. In Campina Grande (PB), for example, the financial movement estimated by the Ministry of Tourism was R $ 200 million in the period, a growth of 25% compared to 2016. The party, held in the People’s Park, received 2.5 Millions of visitors during the 30-day event.

In Maranhão, the June festivals in the whole state moved R $ 60 million, of which R $ 20 million was only in São João de Todos de São Luís.

The Northern region of the country also registered positive results with the festivities last month. The Parintins Folk Festival received 70,000 tourists and generated around 4.5 thousand direct and indirect jobs, moving R $ 100 million in the local economy, according to Amazonastur.

Arraial dos Caetés in Bragança (PA), in turn, received more than 50 thousand people in four days, generating 1.2 thousand direct and indirect jobs and an economic movement of R $ 124.5 thousand.

“The numbers show that we are on the right track to make São João do Brasil a tourist product capable of attracting tourists from all corners of the country. Just this year the National Calendar of Events of the Ministry of Tourism gathered more than 100 celebrations in all Regions of the country, but we need to give visibility to the parties and enable them to be structured to receive more and better the tourist, “said Tourism Minister, Marx Beltrão.

OTHER DESTINATIONS
MTur also highlighted Belo Horizonte as one of the destinations that seeks to consolidate its celebration in the National Calendar of Events. According to Belotur, the 39th edition of Arraial de Belo Horizonte received 185,000 people between June 30 and July 2 and July 8 and 9, with an economic movement of R $ 1.68 million.

In the Midwest, Arraial do São João Bath, held from June 22 to 25 in Corumbá (MS), gathered 51 thousand people, with an economic movement of R $ 430 thousand.
