Salvador must receive 770 thousand tourists during Carnival

The Salvador Carnival is expected to attract some 770,000 tourists to the city, with 400 thousand coming from the interior of Bahia, 300 thousand from other states, especially Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Pernambuco, Sergipe and Minas Gerais. In addition to 70 thousand foreigners, mainly Argentines, French, Chileans, Germans and Uruguayans. The economic movement during the party in the city is estimated at R $ 1.7 billion.

During the Carnival period, the national tourists spend about R $ 4,915 thousand, while the Bahians usually spend about R $ 1.7 thousand and foreign R $ 3.5 thousand. These data are based on research of profile analysis of tourists, carried out by the City Hall. Still according to the study, visitors usually spend seven days in the city during Carnival. But they play in the streets for about five days.

Only in the pre-Carnival, on February 3 and 4, are expected one million people in the streets, between Bahians and tourists. These days, Fuzuê and Furdunço, respectively, take place in the circuit Orlando Tapajós (Ondina-Barra).

Tourists will still visit the capital arriving by ship or plane.
