Tourism in the United States faces fall

During the first seven months of 2017, the United States registered a decrease in the number of tourists who visited the destination. According to the country’s Commerce Department, traveler spending also declined, falling by 3.3% over the previous year.

Between January and November 2017, tourists who went to the United States spent $ 186 billion, down $ 4.6 billion compared to 2016. As a result, the country recorded its second consecutive year with reduced visitor spending.

The US Travel Association has revealed that the US tourist market has been booming since the economic crisis of 2009 but declined again in 2015. One reason for the downfall are President Donald Trump’s political practices such as the border design on the border with Mexico and the prohibition of the entry of Muslims in the country, which directly influenced the decrease of tourists in the United States.
