Universal reveals other novelties of “A Celebration of Harry Potter”

Universal Orlando Resort and Warner Bros. have released more details on A Celebration of Harry Potter ™, the three-day event for fans that will provide incredible experiences from around the Magic World, January 26-28, 2018.
This year, we will have the return of Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), a fan favorite, who will participate in the magical event during the weekend festivities along with the already announced stars Stanislav Yanevski (Viktor Krum), and James and Oliver Phelps ( Fred and George Weasley). More stars will be announced at a later date.
In this issue, the panels will feature new creative talents, including the award-winning costume designer behind the last six Harry Potter films, Jany Temime, and special effects supervisor for all eight films in the series, John Richardson. Visitors will also be able to see the return of graphic designers and props Eduardo Lima and MinaLima’s Miraphora Mina, who have established the visual graphic style of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Animals and Where They Live movies.
In A Celebration of Harry Potter ™, visitors will be able to see new content at immersive exhibitions at the Harry Potter Expo. Participants of the exhibition include: MinaLima, Pottermore, Scholastic, Harry Potter: The Exhibition, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child are some of the show’s attractions. More information will be released at a later date.
HARRY POTTER EXPO (at the Universal Studios Florida theme park)
The Harry Potter Expo will be open to visitors throughout the weekend and will include the booths and exhibits described below that will offer deeper contact with J.K. Rowling’s Magical World stories that fans so love.
• MinaLima
Participating for the fifth time, Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima will bring the House of MinaLima directly from London to Orlando, where they will show the graphic designs of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. For 17 years, MinaLima has created JK Rowling’s magical world of the magical world, from the films Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and The Living Room to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley at the Universal Orlando Resort. best selling books.
• Pottermore
Pottermore will bring the latest news and information directly from the digital heart of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World (plus, perhaps, one or two exclusive novelties kept in the sleeve). In this edition, fans will be able to participate once more in Harry Potter – #AudibleRecall, now with updated questions and specific rounds about each house, every day. So, get ready to find out if you have the perfect potential or the intelligence of a Flobberworm. If you are in doubt as to an answer, remember what Dumbledore already said: “It is our choices … that show what we really are.”
• Scholastic
Scholastic is celebrating 20 years of the magic of Harry Potter with the beloved books that started all this! Fans of all ages are invited to express what Harry Potter means to them, sharing a message on Muggle Wall Muggle Walls; fans will be able to enjoy multiple interactive experiences and in addition to competing daily for a chance to win framed artwork, Illustrated Editions, illustrated by Jim Kay and boxes with the Harry Potter books from 1 to 7! Get exclusive gifts and stay connected in surprises!
• Harry Potter: The Exhibition
Harry Potter: The Exhibition is opening the red carpet to welcome visitors and celebrate the nine years of this exhibition that has already taken its world tour to 16 cities (many more are yet to come). Visitors will be able to see an exhibition of the series’ most fantastic costumes before entering the catwalk to take an exclusive souvenir photo. All visitors can participate in a raffle to compete for an escort trip to the next city to host the Harry Potter: The Exhibition exhibition. The city will be announced during the welcome event on Friday night.

At the beginning of each school year, the Sorting Hat distributes the students in their respective homes, and you will have the opportunity to know what your home is in the Great Hall scenario! Harry Potter: The Exhibition is pleased to present the “Sorting Hat Experience”.

• Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter
Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter is an exclusive attraction that offers Harry Potter fans of all ages the incredible opportunity to get behind the scenes and experience the magic behind the most successful film series of all time. Visitors to Studio Tour in England, UK, the home of film production, will be able to enter authentic settings and admire real props and costumes used during filming.
The Studio Tour will return to “The Celebration of Harry Potter ™ 2018,” giving you the chance to see firsthand some of the incredible practical effects behind the magic of the iconic movie series.
• Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (Harry Potter and the Curseed Child)
Based on the original novel by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a new play by Jack Thorne. Take a behind-the-scenes look at the critically acclaimed stage play at the West End in London, scheduled to premiere in New York in the first half of 2018 and Melbourne, Australia, in early 2019. Visitors will have the chance to confer images, designs and production costumes, in an exclusive and unprecedented way.
A CELEBRATION OF HARRY POTTER ™ PANELS (at the Islands of Adventure theme park)
The panels and question-and-answer sessions will present the creative talents and stars of the Harry Potter films. Tickets for the panels will be available upon request and upon arrival.
• NEWS: Graphic Design for Movies: Creating Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes
Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, creators of the MinaLima graphic design studio, will share their insights about the role of graphic designer they have played in the Harry Potter film series, specifically with regard to the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, describing the design development process from the store, from the book to the screen. In addition, they will talk about the wider design experience for the Wizarding World, from publication to their involvement in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.
• NEW: Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – Discover behind the scenes secrets with award-winning special effects supervisor John Richardson
For the first time, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London will bring John Richardson to A Celebration of Harry Potter ™, where he will share his personal stories about the experience of working on the eight Harry Potter films. In this panel, visitors will discover how flying brooms, floating sails, fire-breathing dragons, and exploding wands were created on set.
• NEWS: The Magic of Costumes in Harry Potter
Visitors will be able to join Jany Temime, the award-winning costume designer behind the last six Harry Potter films, and curator Eddie Newquist, who will talk about the importance of the costumes in the Harry Potter films and how some specific pieces will continue to leave a lasting impression.
More details on The Celebration of Harry Potter ™ will be announced later. Visitors will have access to Universal Orlando attractions throughout the weekend, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.
Access to the A Celebration of Harry Potter ™ event is included in the regular entrance to the theme park, annual pass and seasonal pass. Some activities are available upon request and upon arrival. Exclusive vacation packages for the event are also available for purchase and include special benefits and reserved places for panels and demonstrations.
