Agreement facilitates exchange for Brazilian students

In a decree published in the Federal Official Gazette, President Michel Temer signed a 2007 agreement granting a visa for students from countries that are members of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP). The measure will allow Brazilian students to apply for courses – academic or professional – in all CPLP member countries: Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe and Timor-Leste.

“With this initiative, our students can have an experience abroad and qualify in areas of interest, such as Tourism. We have already sent a group of students to Portugal, considered one of the world’s tourism references. The idea is that we have more and more qualified professionals to work in this market, “said Tourism Minister, Marx Beltrão.

Students interested in the agreement must be enrolled in courses with a minimum of three months’ duration in a recognized educational establishment and located in another member country.

The visa must be requested 30 days after acceptance in the course and the response should not exceed the same 30 days. The validity of the document will be from four months to one year, with the possibility of renewal by proof of attendance and enrollment for the next term.
