At Carnival, Bahia is the destination

Carnival, considered one of the greatest spectacles in the world, has in Bahia one of its most plural destinations. Travelers who choose the state of the Northeast seek not only the foliage of the micaretas, but also the rest in beautiful beaches and resorts. And in February, two destinations in Bahia stand out: Imbassaí and Ilhéus.

Ilheus

Press release

A little over 300km from the capital of Bahia, Salvador, is known as “Little Princess of the South”, in reference to its location on the southern coast of Bahia.
The city with the largest stretch of beach in the state (100 kilometers in total) has an exuberant beauty that enchants the eyes, the stories of Jorge Amado’s consecrated works such as “Gabriela Cravo e Canela”, “Tieta do Agreste” and “Captains of the Sand “, that pack the ears, and a cuisine watered of typical dishes and much cacao, that conquers the palate. Ilheus is passionate and fascinates all the senses.

With summer all year round, Ilhéus is the right destination, both for those seeking peace and quiet, and for those looking for fun and tourist attractions.

Imbassaí

Then, the destination is Imbassaí, in the municipality of São João da Mata, 70 km from Salvador (BA), a place to rest and also fall into foliage. The sunny blue sky welcomes you when you step outside Salvador Airport. The village of Imbassaí is an invitation for those who seek peace. With just under a thousand inhabitants, it is there that you can see the encounter of the river Imbassaí with the sea. To get to the beach, it is worth taking a raft to the mouth of the river, a quick ride that does not cost more than R $ 4,00 per person. If you keep an eye on the tide, it is still feasible to walk there or bike.

Another point of stop is the Imbassaí Institute. Created in 2005, as part of the inauguration project of the Grand Palladium, the NGO has an important role mediating the relations between the communities and the tourism enterprises of the so-called Green Line, expanding its universe of action in the implementation of social-environmental responsibility actions.

Hotels and resorts in the area offer special schedules that include mini-blocks, parades, themed dances and axé shows.
