Brazil approves joint business agreement between US airlines

The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) in Brazil has fully approved the Joint Business Agreement (JBA) between American Airlines and LATAM Airlines Group.

This is the third approval that the JBA between American and LATAM has received since its announcement, with the first approvals having been obtained in Uruguay in November 2016 and in Colombia in May 2017.

“American welcomes CADE’s decision to fully approve our joint business with LATAM Airlines Group,” said American Chairman and CEO Doug Parker. “Joint business agreements are the future of the aviation industry and with this important approval in Brazil we are now very close to offering our customers throughout Latin America and the United States countless benefits including more route options, lower fares on thousands of routes and better services. ”

American Airlines will continue to actively collaborate with the responsible authorities in other jurisdictions that are reviewing the JBA to provide all necessary information to support the work.
