The international operations of the four associates of Abear (Avianca Brasil, Azul, Gol and Latam), according to statistics released today, currently cover about 30% of the market. The remaining portion is held by international companies. Among the Brazilians, Latam led in November, with 71.37% of operations (among national operators), followed by Azul, with 11.87%; Gol, with 10.69%; and Avianca Brasil, with 6.08%.
The demand for trips to and from abroad by Brazilian companies had a high of 6.77% in the month compared to November 2016; it is the 14th consecutive month that the indicator shows growth.
On the same basis of comparison, the offer had a bigger increase, of 9.62%. The addition of capacity in greater proportion than the growth in demand led to a retraction of 2.20 percentage points of the profit factor, which was 82.72% in the month. In total, 691.7 thousand passengers were flown on international flights by Brazilian airlines in November, an increase of 11.77%.
In the accumulated of the year, until the month of November the demand for international flights had already grown 12.28% compared to the same 11 months 2016; the offer increased slightly less, 10.52%. The utilization factor was 85.04%, a slight improvement of 1.34 percentage points over the same period of the previous year. Already the number of passengers carried on these flights totaled 7.6 million, 11.60% more than last year.
Even without the addition of December data, 2017 is already “the best year of international aviation among Brazilian airlines at all times,” according to Abear.
