Company increases frequencies and lands new seats in Rio de Janeiro

The city of Rio de Janeiro will receive news from Air France. Starting October 30, there will be three additional frequencies in a Boeing 777-200 aircraft configured with new seats in the Business, Premium Economy and Economy classes. The company currently operates a daily flight between Rio de Janeiro and Paris. The new flights will represent an increase of 28% of capacity for the capital of Rio de Janeiro, totaling 10 frequencies per week.

The new armchairs, also available in São Paulo and part of the Best & Beyond project, aim to improve Air France’s products and services, as well as offer passengers much more comfort and well-being on board.

“We continue with plans to actively contribute to the demand of Brazilians for international travel. We noted that the desire to travel has increased, so we offer more flights from Air France to Rio de Janeiro, “says Jean-Marc Pouchol, Air France KLM director for South America.” It is very significant to make our best seats available for flights also leaving Rio de Janeiro, in addition to offering even more connection options with our partner GOL for another 35 destinations in Brazil, one of our priority markets, “he points out.

Armchairs

Business Class

The Business armchair was rethought to be a still comfortable and sophisticated option of Air France, representing a total renewal of the travel experience. The company listened to customers, employees, designers and ergonomics experts in a collective effort to design the armchair. The new seat was created specifically for Air France by designer Mark Collins, of luxury transportation company Design Investment, and the brand and brand design agency Brandimage.

The new Business armchair was developed according to the concept of the three F’s:

FULL FLAT – the armchair turns completely into a 180 ° bed

FULL ACCESS – direct access to the corridor, due to the seating configuration 1-2-1;

FULL PRIVACY – space protected by the curves of the seat, providing privacy.

A large, adjustable desk functions as a dining table or functional workstation. A second side table, fully integrated into the armchair, further increases the available surface. For storage, extra spaces were provided for easy passenger access to shoes, bags or suitcases. A single compartment with red coating accommodates noise-canceling headphones, a mirror and personal belongings.

In Business Class, customers have a large 16-inch touch screen with high-definition image. With an interface completely remodeled and available in 12 languages, choosing an entertainment program is easy and intuitive. Each month, about 100 hours of programming are updated. The soft foam of the armchair, padded headrest, soft duvet and feather pillow in size XXG provide a flawless sleep. On the side of the aisle, the armrest covered in leather can be fully lowered, offering more space and consequently the ideal sleeping position.

Premium Economy and Economy

The seat of the new Premium Economy class is ergonomic, with 123º recline, counts 97cm of distance between one armchair and another and 40% more space compared to the seat of Economy class.

In Economy class, the seat has been completely renovated, with more legroom, new cushions, more comfortable headrests and a larger table. The armchair has been ergonomically redesigned to ensure the best comfort. In addition, it has new features, including an electrical outlet and support for headphones.

For entertainment, wider touch screens (12 inches in Premium Economy and 10 in Economy), with high definition images offer over 1,000 hours of music, movies, TV series, among other programs.

Families, and more precisely children, are in the spotlight of Air France. Organic products adapted to the taste of children and young people, new dishes and a selection of new games make the flight a fun time.
