Gramado to host the largest Brazilian event on sustainable tourism

The first edition of the Gramado Forum of Tourism Studies begins this Thursday, April 12, aiming to make the event a reference in sustainable tourism in Brazil. The Forum will offer knowledge, with academic and practical bases, to those who turn to the practice of tourism. In this way, he will talk and talk about turismologists, economists, entrepreneurs, philosophers, scholars and great thinkers who, in their view, will approach tourism as a central theme. The objective is to leave a legacy of the forefront to destinations that invest in tourism sustainable economic activity.

The event is aimed at the players of national tourism, the leaders of tourist destinations, the legislators, that is, those who have tools to implement guidelines in their communities. It should be noted that the students of tourism are also the focus of the event, which proposes to discuss academic subjects and their practical repercussions. The academic excellence of the Forum is duly chancelada through the academic support of the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS), through the Master’s and Doctoral Program in Tourism and Hospitality, ratifying the importance of UCS in scientific research in tourism in Brazil.

Among the attributions of the University is the definition of the program, elaboration and dissemination of specific Notice, definition of the process for digital submission of papers, creation of a Scientific Committee to evaluate the work, organization of the evaluation process, roundtables with invited speakers and of the thematic tables for presentation and discussion of the approved works.

Among the speakers at the event were the presence of Nuno Sousa Pinto, vice president of operations for Rock In Rio USA, of publicist Luiz Grottera, who specializes in designing the branding of tourist destinations by Márcio Fávilla, director of the World Tourism Organization , Peruvian Palmiro Ocampo, member of the “Generation with Cause” Chefs Group, Augusto Nardes, Minister of the Federal Audit Court (TCU) and Luiz da Gama Mór, executive vice president responsible for TAP’s global operation for 17 years.

The program also offers the Colloquium “Tourism: Scenarios, Science and Tourism Development” which awards cash prizes to the three best works presented. This is a significant indicator of the Forum’s understanding, focusing on tourism as a science in the service of the country’s sustainable development.

The event will take place from April 12 to 14 at the Gramado Recreation Society, located at the entrance of Rua Coberta by Garibaldi Street, 328. The Gramado Forum of Tourism Studies is an achievement of SindTur Serra Gaúcha and counts with the support of Gramado City Hall and City Council of Gramado. In addition to the coordination of important business and political leaders in Gramado, the Gramado Forum of Tourism Studies will be organized by Rossi & Zorzanello Feiras e Empreendimentos, responsible for the Gramado Tourism Festival, which has been a success for almost three decades.
