Uruguay is the first South American country to celebrate International Wine Tourism Day. Already in its 4th consecutive edition, it is offered next weekend and promises an agenda full of activities to the tourists that are there.

Wineries and other protagonists of wine tourism offer special actions open to all audiences to display their products, culture and give the importance of this practice in the sector.

There are several programming proposals for this edition, from small marathons between wineries to cinema and live music.

Below are some programming tips for Brazilians who are there next weekend:

1- Grape & Wine Point

Foodtrucks, children’s fun, wine tasting, a fair with local products and artistic shows, all with free admission, this is the proposal of the festival that will take place in San José. The wine tasting will be for moderate to over 18 years.

Date: November 11 between 1pm and 10pm.

2- Moizo Winery

It proposes a guided tour by the family winemakers, home cooking, gastronomy and live music. Activities start at noon in the establishment’s gardens.

Date: November 11, 12 hours.

Menu

Entry: cheese table, cold meats, olives and walnuts.

Main: Grilled pork with salad and baked vegetable buffet.

Dessert: Lemon pie accompanied by Tannat liqueur.

Drinks: Fine wine from the winery, grape juice, natural orange juice, mineral water. Coffee with cookies.

3- Viña Varela Zarranz

Guided tour of vineyards and wineries, at the hand of a family member and a lunch at the establishment’s picnic style, accompanied by wines and sparkling wine is the proposal of the family establishment for Enotourism Day.

Date: November 12, 12 noon

4- Establishment Juanicó

The establishment will hold a small marathon in the magical environment of the Juanicó space. It is the second edition of Uruguay’s only eno-running. After running, it is possible to share a picnic with the family in the gardens of the winery. Know the winery, a historical monument, and know the secrets of the elaboration of its wines

Date: November 12, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

5- Spinoglio

A brief visit to the cellars of the winery, wine tasting, gastronomy in the wine garden and good music are the proposals of the establishment.

Date: November 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
