Maritime company unveils incredible news of the world’s largest cruise ship

Royal Caribbean International has orchestrated a new vacation experience that will redefine adventurous family travel starting in 2018. Symphony of the Seas, the cruise ship’s newest ship, unites award-winning and unique features found only at Royal Caribbean with new experiences that will continue to inspire adventures in guests of all ages. New family dining and activity concepts, incredible air, water and ice entertainment, and the most dynamic suite for family accommodation will be paired with exclusive Royal Caribbean items – such as the Bionic Bar’s robotic bartenders, acrobatic shows on the AquaTheater, with unparalleled diving and diving performances, and Ultimate Abyss, the largest offshore tobogganing – for an exciting mix of diverse experiences, all set in the exclusive seven-bay concept of award-winning Oasis Class ships of Brazilians.

The Symphony of the Seas will claim the title of the world’s largest cruise ship when it debuts in April 2018 for its inaugural season in Europe. This architectural wonder will accommodate more balcony cabins overlooking the ocean and the legendary Boardwalk and Central Park neighborhoods than its popular sister ship Harmony of the Seas, but there is much more to it than its impressive size.

“We are excited to finally host Symphony of the Seas, our most daring ship to date, offering the best of Royal Caribbean with some new surprises for our guests to create vacations that adventurers of all ages can enjoy together,” says Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “We set out to create a new level of adventure vacation and offer the best travel option for families of all shapes and sizes. Symphony will introduce the most innovative, customizable and digitally enhanced experiences of the entire Royal Caribbean fleet” .ooo

Boardwalk Reinvented

Symphony of the Seas will feature the new generation of Royal Caribbean’s famed Boardwalk neighborhood, bursting with new energy, interactive experiences and lively locales, designed to be tailored and offering countless entertainment options for all ages. The Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade will be the place to watch the “big game” from around the world on 30 large screen TVs, ensuring that everyone has the best place in the house to cheer for their favorite team.

Along the Boardwalk, the vibrant Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade will be a meeting place for families to sample chicken wings, burgers and craft beers, as well as friendly competitions from Pacman, Star Wars Battle Pod, Ice Skeeball and other classic and popular games . Along the way, appropriately adjacent to the iconic carved wooden carousel by hand, there will be Sugar Beach, a candy and ice cream store that will attract adults and children with their colorful walls, filled with tempting candy and ice cream filled with toppings. The sweetest atmosphere on the high seas will also feature activities for families, such as workshops for aspiring confectioners.

To these boardwalk novelties will be added the gastronomy and entertainment options of renowned worldwide networks that guarantee the neighborhood’s popularity on Oasis Class ships. The presence of the Ultimate Abyss toboggan in the heart of the Boardwalk will further spread the energy of space with the adrenaline screams of the guests who adhere to the adventure. At Johnny Rockets is where the indulgences of hamburgers, chips and milkshakes will be celebrated with the music and entertainment of the 50’s. The stunning AquaTheater will activate the ocean scenery and starry nights with a breathtaking acrobatic show and breathtaking aerial performances of high intensity found only on the Symphony of the Seas.

Ultimate Family Suite

Symphony will introduce the most interactive and adventurous family booth in the world. The next generation of family accommodation, the two-story Ultimate Family Suite, is a dream come true for young and old at heart and will unveil amazing features such as: a unique slide from the children’s room to the first floor living room ; a Lego wall from the floor to the ceiling; an air hockey table and hidden nooks to rest.

A 3D cinema-style TV room, complete with pipoqueira and a collection of games, will bring a new level of euphoria to the family gamers. And that’s just inside: the 19-square-meter balcony features a pool table, a climbing wall with hammock and a hot tub that will provide unparalleled views of the ocean.

The Ultimate Family Suite is 125 square feet, sleeps a family of up to eight people in two bedrooms and uses every inch of space to activate the imagination and provide the most enchanting accommodations possible. And if that was not enough, guests of the Ultimate Family Suite will have their own personal Genie (concierge) to take care of all your needs while enjoying all the premium services and amenities of a Royal Suite Class accommodation. This ultimate allowance of family vacation indulgence joins the wide variety of contemporary accommodations available throughout the ship, from the Loft Suites with its breathtaking views to the spacious Owner’s Suites with multiple bedrooms.

Totally New Cooking Creations and Fun for the Family

Symphony will debut new food and beverage concepts to join an already diversified list of more than 20 specialty restaurants and those included in cruises in the ship’s seven districts. Hooked, Royal Caribbean’s first seafood brasserie, will offer fresh seafood and a varied raw bar complete with oysters upon request. Located on the bow of the ship in the Solarium, the casually sophisticated restaurant will have sweeping views of the sea and will serve lunch and dinner. El Loco Fresh Mexican will be a new option for a quick snack between adventures, where guests will enjoy fresh tacos and freshly made Mexican dishes. The outdoor restaurant will accommodate more than 100 people in the Sports Zone.

Royal Caribbean’s favorite and signature restaurants, such as Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine, Jamie’s Italian by Jamie Oliver, 150 Central Park with its American seasonal menu, Park Café and Izumi Hibachi and Sushi, will also have redesigned design and new menu options at Symphony, offering guests the most options and variety in dining.

High Definition Entertainment

Royal Caribbean’s unrivaled entertainment will once again raise its standard of quality by promoting immersive shows where the magic of the theater extends from the stage to the audience. Back on popular demand, “Hairspray” – the first Broadway musical on the sea floor – will return to the Symphony with a full update and headline the Royal Theater program along with the new Royal Caribbean original show, “Flight,” a historical satire on the evolution of air travel, ending with a tribute to the famous Wright Brothers. In the iconic outdoor amphitheater, the AquaTheater, the new water show “HiRo” presents an atmosphere of courage with many acrobatics of high flying and deep diving. Studio B will showcase a new time-travel adventure, a high-tech “ice skating” show called “1977” will take guests to London at the beginning of the century, the eve of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee when their Crown Jewels were stolen.

In order to experience an exciting live action adventure at sea, guests can prepare for an epic laser tag experience in the dark, like no other. State-of-the-art technology and special effects will transform Studio B into the world’s largest laser arena, while family, friends and enemies battle for the last planet in the galaxy. Tourists looking for a challenge can experience a new Puzzle Break experience at Symphony of the Seas where teams will race against the clock, learning to work together for a common goal of escaping the underwater-themed room before time runs out.

New mobile check-ins debut at Symphony

The latest technological innovations will be integrated into the Symphony of the Seas, including a redesigned check-in experience that eliminates queues at ticket booths. The new process will leverage a combination of facial recognition, bar codes and light signals to make shipping faster and more seamlessly. Guests will be checked in using the new Royal Caribbean mobile application and can send their selfie to create their account onboard safely from the comfort of their home. Upon arrival, guests will walk through a security screening, then head directly to their cabins where their keys will be ready and waiting. In addition to check-in via the mobile device, Symphony will feature all the pioneering and award-winning technology the cruise company is known for, including VOOM – the fastest seaside internet, state-of-the-art systems and virtual balconies.
