The Carnival of Salvador moved about R $ 1.7 billion in the city, which received almost 800 thousand tourists during the 4 days of festivities, bringing together about 8 million people, as reported by the city’s capital, on Wednesday ( 14).

The hotel chain recorded occupancy records, with an average of 93%, according to estimates from the Bahia Federation of Lodging and Food (FeBHA). The best day for renting beds was recorded between last Sunday and Monday, when the rate reached 96%, being the best occupation among all the capitals of Brazil.

With 186 trios parading without shorts and 250 more attractions in the neighborhoods and thematic stages installed by the City Hall in several corners of the city, the revelry in the capital of Bahia brought together 1.8 million people on the streets daily. If you add cabins plus blocks with strings, this quantity reaches 2 million revelers.

During the Carnival, national tourists spend about R $ 4,900, while the Bahians usually spend about R $ 1.7 thousand and foreigners, R $ 3,5 thousand.

Other sectors of the economy celebrate the results obtained during the party and throughout the summer. In the food sector, bars located in the tourist circuit, which includes the stretch between Stella Maris and Pelourinho, increased between 30% and 40% in sales January to Carnival this year, compared to the same period last year.
