South coast of Bahia has attractive destination

The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (Idac) announced on Monday (15) that the flow of international passengers in the country increased by 4.4% in 2017 compared to the previous year. There were more than 7 million tourists, 583 thousand more compared to 2016.

According to Idac, airlines carried about one million passengers monthly through international flights. Most of the visitors left North America (56.7%), followed by Europe (25.4%), South America (12.7%) and Central America (4.8%).

Despite the increase in tourists, the number of trips in the country decreased by 0.21%, as many flights ended up being canceled due to Hurricanes Irma and Maria, which reached much of the Caribbean Sea. However, the number of visits to the country remained high thanks to the use of aircraft with greater capacity to carry passengers.
