Tips for not spending too much during a trip

There is no doubt that traveling is one of the favorite activities of millions of Brazilians, of all ages. But in times of economic crisis, we realize that this practice has greatly diminished, and in some cases, deleted from the planning list of many families.
So that this does not happen often and you do not have to give up moments of rest and leisure, I separated seven special tips to help you organize a trip without extrapolating expenses or risk being red at the end of the month:
1. Planning
To be successful on the trip, you have to plan ahead and place it at the tip of the pencil if the budget you stipulate will be sufficient to cover the costs of boarding, lodging and meals. Always try to search the destinations you want to know to organize the finances and make the most of it;
2. Discounts on hotels and tickets
Accompanying the hotels of the chosen destination and the airfares is an essential action to get great discounts. It pays to follow up on social networks and subscribe to airline newsletters and specialized blogs. It is fundamental to define what type of accommodation you are looking for and the amount you want to invest. Between super simple and economical hostels and hotels with breakfast included, there are a huge number of options available. At the end of the year, several promotions are coming up and you just have to follow them to make the most of them.
3. Miles
Redeeming miles of credit cards can be an alternative to save money or even get free air tickets if you have enough accumulated score. At this point, you should be careful with your credit card balance, taking the necessary precautions not to extrapolate the expenses of your monthly budget, but at the same time prioritizing this means of payment before others, since it is the only one that offers you recurring miles to be redeemed for a free trip at the end of the year. Also follow the mileage redemption promotions, they come from time to time and are super advantageous.
4. Choice of international destinations
You can choose destinations whose currencies are depreciated compared to our Real (BRL). Some examples that fit into this variable are the countries of South America, such as Argentina – which makes some services and products have lower values compared to their compatible in Brazil.
5. Places for tourists
A tip to save money is to get away from the bars and restaurants that are frequented by tourists, as usually in these establishments prices are usually higher. It is worth talking with the locals to find out which establishments you prefer;
6. Caution when using international credit card
Due to the IOF tax rate of 6.38% on the total purchase value, the use of the international credit card may prove to be a problem, since banks use the dollar as the exchange reference and charge by the quotation of the day of card billing, and not of the purchase, being able to become a victim of the exchange oscillations;
7. Calculate the present
It is very common when we make any kind of trip to bring gifts to friends and family, but we must be careful not to extrapolate our budget in doing so. Sometimes souvenirs and local souvenirs may be sufficient, as well as postcards sent directly from the destination. The important thing is to show that you remembered that person you love while traveling, not to bring the most expensive or “next-generation” product.
If you follow most of these tips, you increase your chance to save money significantly, while enjoying your trip and getting to know beautiful places in your chosen destination. Enjoy!
