Trends in hospitality for 2018

The Virtuoso group today unveiled the 2018 edition of the “Best of the Best” yearbook, a collection of travel and luxury experiences, and highlighted some of the top hotel trends for this year. From boutique hotels, classic and historical, to the elegant and sophisticated style of the great capitals of the world, among many others, are among the characteristics pointed out by the new edition of the catalog. Check out the highlights:

Singularity
Most properties have less than 100 accommodations, strengthening the boutique hotel movement. The cool, one-of-a-kind movement and lifestyle effect, both in hotels and resorts, is also on the list, which still puts unique and local experiences rarely found in traditional hospitality among major trends.

Elegance in the great centers
The Virtuoso shows properties in major cities such as Munich (Germany), Helsinki (Finland), Paris (France), London (United Kingdom) and New York (USA), as attractions that should gain strength.

On the same path as the uniqueness factor, the properties that offer a cultural immersion, such as The First Hotel Roma, which houses 150 works by contemporary artists of the 20th century, are the “darling” of the guests this year.

Luxury Camp
Luxurious and authentic experiences once again appear prominently in a movement that has been gaining more and more supporters in luxury over the last few years. Glamping – a combination of glamor and camping – is no longer a novelty, but it has not yet become standard. Even so, it attracts more and more travelers to experiences in nature.

A good old family trip
Seen as an already well-established niche, family travel appears as a safe bet in the Virtuoso’s yearbook. The issue features properties such as the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania and the Kulm Hotel in Switzerland as natural options for travelers seeking luxury with parents, children and spouses.
