Until April, all Brazilian capitals will be visited by the prosecutors of the Ministry of Tourism. The purpose of the action is to sensitize service providers on the importance of formalizing the sector and, consequently, to ensure the expansion of the number of individuals and legal entities in the registry of providers of tourist services: Cadastur. “Legal Summer Operation” was already in Brasília, Rio de Janeiro and Boa Vista and started yesterday (05) the surveys in the remaining 23 capita.
The inspection work, begun in September 2017, has already had effects on the numbers of the Cadastur. In December 2017, 64,591 registrations were identified, an increase of 14% over the same period of the previous year. It is important to warn that anyone caught with out-of-date registration will be considered illegal and may be assessed by the control bodies. If you do not regularize your situation, you can still be penalized with a fine that can reach R $ 854 thousand.
“With this task force of the Ministry of Tourism we will benefit not only the tourism sector, which will leave the illegality, but also the tourist who gains quality and safety when hiring a regularized service provider and that acts in accordance with the legislation Brazilian Therefore, I am convinced that this is a project that will be supported by the entire industry and its partners, “believes Tourism Minister, Marx Beltrão.
With the measure, the expectation of the Ministry of Tourism is to guarantee the registration of the 4,123 lodging facilities of the capitals registered by the hotel census commissioned by the MTur last year. Currently, 1,374 are in the system, or 33% of the total.
Besides the formalization of means of lodging, the cadastre is also obligatory for other six categories: tourism agency; theme park; tourist camp; event organizer; tour guide; tour operator.
