TAP pilots held on Tuesday (20) in Toulouse, a test flight of the neo A330 for the first time. Nuno Cardoso, TAP A330 / A340 Chief Pilot, and Victor Pereira, TAP A330 Fleet Instruction Coordinator conducted tests with the aircraft to demonstrate the performance of this new Airbus family model.

Normally, only Airbus pilots perform these flights. The two TAP commanders were accompanied in the cockpit by Airbus pilot Thierry Bourges, who was responsible for the test pilots of this project.

The neo A330 has been tested in several different flight configurations that are used only in simulator training, as well as various take-off and landing maneuvers. At the end of the flight, the pilot team was very satisfied with the behavior of the new airplane and proved the high standards of comfort that the aircraft offers in its cabin.

Recalling that TAP will be the first airline in the world to operate the new aircraft A330-900 neo.

This aircraft will be the first equipped with the new version of the Airspace cabin, which represents a new concept in line with TAP’s ambition to offer the best industry product to its customers.
In addition to this new Airspace cabin interior, the A330neo also incorporates the latest generation of Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and improvements in terms of aerodynamics. With unbeatable economic features, versatility and high reliability, the A330neo delivers fuel savings of around 14% per aircraft seat, making the wide-body aircraft more efficient.
