The Museum of Tomorrow, which received 2.6 million visitors since its inauguration in 2015 and became two most visited in Brazil, brought Rio de Janeiro to Vila Cidadã, an installation inspired by the Main Exhibition.

Called “Waters of the Planet”, an experience invites visitors to meet a cube covered by satellite photographs that show Earth seen from space.

Within this environment, we will use virtual reality glasses and rotating maps to watch a film about the Anthropocene, which, according to the theory presented by the muse, is a geological period dominated by human hair. Or the movie shows the effects of the uncontrolled exploitation of a planet with a human species.

“We have consumed more resources on the planet in the last 60 years than we did 200,000 years ago,” said Ricardo Piquet, director-president of the Museum of Tomorrow. “The idea is to show the results of human activities on Earth, which is our only home.”

In their opinion, groups of 15 visitors can participate for a time experience, which will send a 10-minute video, divided into two parts: a content that talks about the Water situation on the planet and the video displayed in the Anthropocene area, Main Exhibition of the Museum.

On the side of the cube, another video will be presented by the Museum of Tomorrow to all visitors to the 8th World Water Forum.

Vila Cidadã will occupy an area of ​​10 thousand square meters, not the National Stadium Mané Garrincha. The space will be open to the public, not on March 17, at the same time as the interactive activities carried out for the construction of dialogues as a society, such as exhibitions, talk shows and immersive environments.

Either the goal is to expand public awareness, public attention and social participation for the water sector, as well as to promote innovative solutions to the problems they face not on a daily basis.

8th World Water Forum
