Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest airline group, started its maiden flight to Buenos Aires yesterday (8). The flight took off from Addis Ababa, stopped in São Paulo and went to Buenos Aires. In commemoration of International Women’s Day, one company made one made in Latin America: a 100% female crew flight operation.

The inaugural flight was operated exclusively by a Boeing 777-200, although it is a rotary operation with Boeing 787 Dreamliner. A new route from São Paulo (GRU) to Buenos Aires (EZE) is available five times a week.

Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam, CEO of the Ethiopian Airlines Group, was aboard the maiden flight with a comedy that landed without an airport in Buenos Aires for a press conference and a series of events as Buenos Aires authorities.

Buenos Aires is the 6th destination of the airline in America. An Ethiopian newspaper with flights to Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and Sao Paulo.
