Milan is chosen to host LGBTQ tourism convention in 2020

The International LGBTQ International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) has announced the city of Milan, Italy, as the venue for its Global Annual Convention in 2020. The event aims to train professionals and promote networking between suppliers and travel customers of the niche.

The 35th edition of the event takes place this year in Toronto, Canada, May 9-12 at the Westin Harbor Castle. The convention expects 550 industry professionals, who will represent more than 25 countries.

As early as 2019, New York City, in the United States, will host the Spring Meeting in the Northern Hemisphere, with an expected 600 participants. The event will take place in the year commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Revolt, a movement against police repression that is considered a watershed for the LGBTQ movement and US legislation that has inspired a number of mobilizations around the world.
