Turkish Airlines celebrated its 10th anniversary of joining the Star Alliance network, established in 1997 as the first alliance of global airlines with global reach, continuous recognition and service to international travelers.
The event took place at the Company’s headquarters in Turkey with the participation of M. İlker Aycı, Chairman of the Turkish Airlines Board of Directors and of Star Alliance CEO Jeffrey Goh.

When Turkish Airlines joined as the 20th Star Alliance member in April 2008, the Company increased 31 new destinations to the network. Today, with its presence, it offers 72 exclusive destinations in the world.
Since 2008, members of the Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles Program can make full use of Star Alliance FFP benefits. Users can not only accumulate and redeem miles on all member airline flights, but also access more than 1,000 lounges around the world, use extra baggage, priority baggage allowance, quick procedure for immigrant admission, exclusive check-in counter and priority boarding.
