Yellow Fever: What do I need to travel?

The Ministry of Health is expanding measures to contain yellow fever in the country. The vaccine against the disease is available in almost all states by the public network and is recommended to people residing in regions considered to be at risk or traveling to these places . The ministry points out that at the moment there are not enough doses of the vaccine, so fractional doses are being distributed to the population.

Several new countries have included the yellow fever vaccination certificate requirement, so in the case of trips already scheduled, it is advisable for the passenger to check with his airline for new requirements.

If you have already received a single dose and have the certificate you do not need to change or renew, as long as your certification is regularized with the complete vaccine data (if the certificate won also there are no problems according to Anvisa, since now WHO has regulated that a full dose is worth for a lifetime). For international travel, the fractional vaccine is not valid since it only accounts for one-fifth of the vaccine and lasts for about eight years. Plan your trip to take the vaccine 10 days before you leave, if you took the fraction you will have to wait a month to take the single dose.

To obtain the International Certificate of Vaccination and Prophylaxis (CIVP):

It is necessary that the citizen has taken the full dose of the vaccine. After vaccination, register on the Anvisa website and schedule the care in one of the VC’s, a pre-registration will be required to expedite. To remove the documentation take your vaccination card, an original document with a photo and a proof of eminent landing in a country that requires certification. This requirement was a way of restricting the issuance of the certificate, as opposed to the increase in the demand for it.
