Cruise company launches international season 2018/2019

Plans to triple MSC Cruises’ offer, which were announced last year, are moving towards reaching the target set for 2026. The shipbuilder who recently opened the MSC Meraviglia vessel, with a capacity of 5,700, still counts with other news for the coming months.

At the launch of the international season 2018/2019, which took place today, in the city of São Paulo, the commercial director of the shipbuilder, Ignacio Palacios, highlighted the extensions of offers. “We will expand and strengthen the international packages offered. For this year, we will also have another second inauguration: the Seaside. ”

Among the new vessels, the shipowner announced the arrival of MSC Seaview in May 2018, MSC Bellissima in 2019. In addition, the megatransatlantic, which will have a capacity of up to 7,000 passengers, World Class, is scheduled to launch by 2022 “Although not yet defined the scripts for each of the ships, Palacios pointed out that in the season that begins next year Seaview will dock in Brazilian ports.

In addition, in order to consolidate in preference and increase demand, the shipowner has bet on the Fly and Cruise options for the Brazilian market – international packages that include airfare, transfer and ship. “In some cases, as for the United Arab Emirates, we still have options that include a day of stay at Novotel Dubai,” explains the executive.

BRAZILIAN MARKET

Among the Brazilians’ favorite packages, Palacios highlighted the growth of an already consolidated destination: the Caribbean. The highlight, however, is in the scripts that contemplate the Caribbean South and the Antilles, which had a 25% increase in value added during the last season.

According to him, Brazilians are discovering other packages from the Caribbean and the trend is even more positive, considering that supply will increase. “Soon we will have Meraviglia there, which will increase our offer,” he points out.

Despite this, packages for the Mediterranean continue to be the main ones for Brazilians, because of the largest fleet and supply in the region, while the United Arab Emirates emerges as a potential. “We have very little publicized MSC Splendida this year, but we have still achieved more than 150% growth compared to 2016.”

As part of the expansion plan, which aims to jump from 1.8 million to 5 million passengers a year, Palacios makes clear the intention of the presence of Brazilians. “This is where the company’s main Latin American market is, there is no doubt that our growth will also be worked towards Brazil,” he said.
