Research shows profile and habits of tourists visiting São Paulo

SPTuris released data on the profile of tourists who visited São Paulo in 2017. Brazilian travelers stayed on average for three days in the city and spent R $ 180 each. Meanwhile, internationals spent four days, on average, and spent R $ 484. In proportion, 83.9% are Brazilian and 16.1% are foreign.

The main emitters of national tourists are Campinas, Ribeirão Preto, Santos, Sorocaba and São José dos Campos, in the State of São Paulo. From other states, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul appear at the top. Most of the gringos tourists come from the United States, Argentina, France, Spain and Germany.

In the profile of corporate traveler, 92.3% come motivated by business and 7.7% by events. In addition, 73.9% travel by car and 62.2% alone, indicating that most come from nearby cities. Outside the business itself, 26.3% stay in hotels, 70.1% go to bars and restaurants, and 31.4% go shopping in the city

Amongst those who travel leisurely, 20.4% use subways, 42% visit Paulista Avenue, 84.1% arrive in the city using their own car, and 31.2% stay in the home of family and friends. Completing the numbers, 73.1% attend bars and restaurants in São Paulo and 33.5% travel with the family.
