With over 90% of its occupancy in January and record revenues, the RCI-affiliated Hotel Le Canton, located in Teresópolis (Rio de Janeiro), sees infrastructure investments and the timeshare model impacting directly on the results of the project. Throughout 2017, Le Canton had an average occupancy of 60% in its 228 apartments. In 2018, the expectation is to maintain the January index, raising the overall average for the year. One of the strategies that have generated results, added to the work of dissemination and sales carried out, is the timeshare model by RCI, implemented a little over three years ago.

Eduardo Bethlem, who is responsible for the product at Le Canton, considers the model very advantageous for RCI associates: “Families with children have found many timeshare advantages, with much more attractive rates and differentiated service at the resort. The program also opens the possibility for these families to stay in hotels and resorts around the world. As a result, the number of members is growing and the approval rating is high. There are families who buy even more than one program with us, “adds Bethlem.

Always thinking about the satisfaction of its clients, the Hotel has reformulated its main access entrance, shifting its reception from the project of the architect Duda Porto. Another novelty is on the access road, which has undergone improvements thanks to the partnership of the resort with the local Prefecture. In addition, still in 2018, 11 new apartments are planned in the development. “Today, about 13% of the hotel occupancy is from customers who have already purchased their daily rates in advance of the timeshare, and the goal is to reach 25% in the next two years,” says the executive.

“Le Canton is a 30 year old hotel, but that does not turn out its age. We are always renewing ourselves and the result is the high satisfaction rate of our customers, with 93% approval. This is very gratifying, “says the director of the Hotel, Mônica Paixão.

RCI Brasil’s director general, Maria Carolina Pinheiro, also emphasizes the importance of the business to increase the flow of guests in affiliated enterprises. “In the timeshare model, the parties find advantages and this is one of the main reasons why the hotel industry has adhered so much to the system. With time shared, many destinations that were not previously in the itinerary of the members, become options for the exchange of vacations, “he explains.
