On March 12, in São Paulo, the Brazilian Academy of Events and Tourism (Abevt) presented its new President for the biennium 2018-2020, Armando Arruda Pereira de Campos Mello, current holder of the chair number 11, which patron his grandfather the engineer Armando de Arruda Pereira.

Currently, Armando is the Executive President of the Brazilian Union of Trade Fair Promoters (UBRAFE), an entity in which he has been working for more than 20 years. Bachelor of Public Relations from FAAP / SP and with specialization in Management of Public Policies of Tourism – UFSC and Tourism Economy by the Secretary of Tourism SP, also serves as President of the Committee of Curatorship of the Commemoration Project 100 years of the Modern Art Week of 1922 .

In 2006, Armando was one of the creators and founders of the Brazilian Academy of Events and Tourism (Abevt), which emerged with the main objective of being a reference in the development of the Events and Tourism segments in the national and international scope. Notary professionals of the highest mastery, importance and qualification of the sector are part of the Academic College of the institution.

Among the actions of the Academy in favor of the sector, special highlight for the establishment of the Professional Event Day in Brazil, officially celebrated every 30 April in honor of Dr. Caio de Alcantara Machado, pioneer in the sector of trade fairs. And the permanent debate on the matters of the sector.
