In one of the company’s most ambitious projects so far, Royal Caribbean is changing the meaning of holiday sensations and relaxation by unveiling its new Perfect Day Island Collection, a series of unparalleled destinations and unique on private islands around the world.

The first item in the collection, Perfect Day at CocoCay, is a $ 200 million transformation of the current private island of the Bahamas cruise company, which will offer the best destination for families in the Caribbean.

Highlights include:

  • Thrill Waterpark with two amazing water towers and 13 water slides – more than any water park in the Caribbean – including 41-foot Daredevil’s Peak, the tallest water slide in North America. In addition, the park will have the largest wave pool in the Caribbean and a swimming pool with obstacles for children.
  • Oasis Lagoon, the largest freshwater swimming pool in the Caribbean, with swim up bar and sun loungers within the pool.
  • A 487-meter zipline that crosses the island up to 15 meters high and has the only landing on the water in the Caribbean.
  • A helium balloon, called Up, Up and Away, which floats up to 135 meters above ground, offering the highest observation point in the Bahamas.
  • Two specially designed beaches – Chill Island for the best beach rest, complete with crystal clear tropical waters and fine white sand – and many cabanas and loungers for relaxation; and bustling South Beach with volleyball, basketball, beach, soccer, stand-up paddle, kayak with glass bottom and zorbing into an inflatable zorb bubble.
  • The exclusive Coco Beach Club will offer a sophisticated island experience with the first water huts in the Bahamas.
Royal Caribbean ships departing from the states of New York, Maryland and Florida will have Perfect Day at CocoCay on their itineraries, offering guests vacation adventures like no other in the Caribbean. The island’s transformation will happen in phases from September this year, with the completion of a new pier, and in the second quarter of 2019 most of the island’s experiences will already be open. The Coco Beach Club, the final phase, is due to open in November 2019. Other Perfect Day Island Collection destinations in Asia, Australia and the Caribbean will be announced in the future.

Royal Broadens Fleet Modernization and Introduces Innovations on Every Platform
In addition to the newly announced digital innovations, including automated face-check-in, cab technology and a new mobile application, the cruise company has dedicated $ 900 million to reinvent its fleet through a new modernization effort called Royal Amplified.

Reaching 10 ships in four years, the program will address every aspect of the guest experience and introduce a wide range of innovative features and daring experiences, including poolside venues, experience dining and nightlife concepts and unprecedented attractions such as Sky Pad, an outstanding bungee jumping experience on a trampoline with virtual reality goggles.

Royal Amplified reflects the company’s passion for innovation, relentless attention to detail and commitment to delivering the world’s best vacation. “Part of these innovations will be on the Symphony of the Seas, the Oasis’ newest Oasis release, the most sought after by Brazilians. In November this year, Symphony comes to the Caribbean and will be a great choice for anyone who wants to more modern in the world in terms of cruise ships. Other news, such as the Sky Pad will also be on the revitalized Mariner of the Seas, a great choice for writing vacations in Florida with short cruises, with all the benefits that Royal Caribbean offers to an extremely attractive cost. “, explains Ricardo Amaral of R11 Travel.

Reincarnation of minicruises
Royal Caribbean’s growing popularity among millennials has resulted in the company being named “Cruise Line Brand of the Year” at Harris Poll’s 29th Annual EquiTrend Study. This important new generation of travelers opts for more frequent, and often shorter vacations, and Royal Caribbean is meeting the demand of this type of guest by renewing its concept of mini-cruisers.

This year the Mariner of the Seas has gone through a $ 90 million upgrade with the addition of new attractions, including the Sky Pad and a laser tagging experience in the dark, the Laser Tag. Also the Bamboo Room, a retro lounge with chic tropical decor, and the fun Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade. Beginning in June 2018, the Mariner will cruise for three and four nights departing from Miami and redefining the experience of short cruises.

The sister ship, Navigator of the Seas will be next in 2019, and will receive even greater modernization before joining the Mariner of the Seas. In 2019, the two ships will make several departures with Perfect Day at CocoCay in the script, offering the best minicruz option in the Caribbean.

New Ships and New Class on the Horizon
Beginning in April, Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Symphony of the Seas, will shake the world not only as the world’s largest cruise ship but also as the best family vacation. Justifying its name, the Symphony offers a symphony of new features, such as the Ultimate Family Suite, new dining options – from fresh seafood to Mexican food, state-of-the-art Broadway entertainment, and live-action adventure, such as the epic laser shooting experience that shines in the dark and the technological room escape room.

In addition to the Symphony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean has a robust line of new ships in sight, including the Quantum Ultra Class Spectrum of the Seas, an evolution of the Quantum Class of ships due to debut in 2019; a second Quantum Ultra Class ship in 2020, a fifth of the Oasis Class in 2021 and a new class known as Icon, with ships delivered in 2022 and 2024, which will be powered primarily by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and fuel cells.
