Hotel and resort network extends global portfolio

Strategic Priority: Four Seasons Residential
To meet growth in the residential portfolio, Paul White was named Residency Chairperson of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Directly connected to Portfolio Manager and Owner Relationships, Michael A. Crawford, this new global position is focused exclusively on existing residential properties and more than 30 projects currently in the advanced stages of development, and in relationships with proprietary partners for the development of residential projects.

Since its entry into the housing market in 1985, the portfolio of Four Seasons Private Residences, including the villas and the home rental program, has reached 38 properties in 17 countries, which is expected to double in the next five years, with 80 % of current hotel and resort projects including the residential component. New for 2018 is the inauguration of Twenty Grosvenor Square, Four Seasons Residence in London, the first independent residence project of a Four Seasons hotel or resort.

Success data: growth highlights in 2017
Four Seasons opened seven hotels and resorts last year, including a second London hotel in Ten Trinity Square with a meticulous restoration of a historic building. New properties were inaugurated in China, where Four Seasons opened its ninth hotel in the port city of Tianjin.

At the end of the year, just one month after the announcement of the new administration, the legendary Ocean Club in the Bahamas was reopened with the Four Seasons flag. In another premiere, Four Seasons expanded the mountain portfolio in Europe in partnership with the Rothschild family in Megève.

In 2017, Four Seasons also announced plans to open hotels, resorts and residences in South Korea on Jeju Island; in the Chinese port city of Dalian; a second hotel in Saudi Arabia in Makkah; and a second hotel in Vietnam in the heart of Hanoi.

New for 2018
Four Seasons debuts in Brazil with a new hotel and residences in São Paulo; and Greece, with the conversion of Astir Palace, one of the most desired hotels in the Athenian Riviera.

In addition to the inauguration at Twenty Grosvenor Square, the list of hotels expected for 2018 is wide, and most include the Private Residences project as a new hotel next to the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur.

A second hotel in India is also planned with Private Residences in Bengaluru, one of the fastest growing cities in the country, and the second Seychelles resort on Desroches Island.

Four Seasons returns to Philadelphia with a new hotel in what will be the tallest building in the city. In partnership with Comcast, the hotel will bring a new level of state-of-the-art technology to luxury travelers.
