The reduction in the offer of flights adopted as strategy by the main airlines in the country, to reduce costs, is already reflected in the market. A survey commissioned by the Ministry of Tourism reveals that only 41.7% of the population consider the Brazilian air network sufficient to meet demand. For an important part of the interviewees, 36%, the supply of flights and destinations is still insufficient.

When analyzed regionally, the survey points out that, in the interviewees’ evaluation, the South region has the best air network in the country and 49.6% evaluate it as sufficient or very sufficient. Following the Southeast (41.7%) and Northeast (37.6%). In the North and Midwest, the perception is lower – 28.7%. In the opposite field, the Northeast region had the worst evaluation, with 38.4% classified as insufficient.

To reverse the situation, 73.4% of people are in favor of increasing the number of airlines operating in Brazil. No wonder, the highest approval is in the states of the Northeast (75.1%), North and Central West (75%). The South region appears with 73.8% and the Southeast with 71.2%.
