Operator promote campaign in Women’s Month

Women from Brazil, from different regions, can have much to exchange and learn from each other. With the aim of creating a connection between them and promoting women’s empowerment, the NGO Artemis and Vivejar will hold two trips that promise to present the culture of different feminine realities of the country.

Through community-based tourism, travelers are invited to immerse themselves in the routine of strong, independent women’s communities, getting to know their day-to-day lives, challenges and crafts, and staying in their homes. Part of the income obtained from the sale of the packages will be reverted to the association Artemis, which works to promote female autonomy and eradicate violence against women.

Between March 11 and 15, the Artemis Expedition: Women of Brazil takes place in the Jequitinhonha Valley, in the hinterland of Minas Gerais, where ceramics artisans have gained autonomy and recognition and have joined together for art. In the “Do Barro à Arte” script, travelers will get to know these incredible women up close and learn how to make pottery with their bare hands.

From August 11 to 16, the Artemis Expedition goes to Belém and Cotijuba Island, in Pará. There, they will be received by women who are fighting for local sustainable development through the Belém Islands Women’s Movement. In addition to delicious Paraty gastronomy, the surprising landscapes and the production of biojóias also give life to the script “Secrets and Spices of the Amazon”.

In each of the expeditions, the travelers will be accompanied by a hostess Vivejar, who will host the group and will take care of the day-to-day activities and by a hostess Artemis, who will facilitate the connection between the visiting women and the women of the community for means of interactions and conversation wheels.
