HPI has discovered which are the five most sought after destinations in the world that offer 5 star accommodation at very affordable prices. Options range from luxurious resorts and networks to boutique hotels:

The HPI also points out which are the most popular and most cost-effective destinations for Brazilians, based on the average fares paid in 2017:

Istanbul, Turkey
Brazilians paid on average R $ 470 per night in 5 star properties in Istanbul

Bogota, Colombia
Brazilians paid on average R $ 477 per night in 5 star properties in Istanbul

Mendoza, Argentina
Brazilians paid on average R $ 516 per night in 5 star properties in Istanbul

Bangkok, Thailand
Brazilians paid on average R $ 521 per night in 5 star properties in Istanbul

Panama City, Panama

Brazil and Latin America have luxury destinations and more in mind
Brazilians who are looking for a good deal when planning vacations find great rates for destinations in Latin America. Average fares in luxury accommodations in places like Cartagena, Montevideo and Lima fell by 23% in 2017 compared to 2016. In Brazil, four- or five-star accommodations were up to 38% cheaper in Porto Alegre.

Brazil was also an interesting destination for international travelers. Rio de Janeiro fell to the liking of foreigners and, according to HPI data, four- and five-star property prices fell, on average, by 17% in 2017 for tourists from France, the United Kingdom, Mexico and the United States.

The United States still has the preference of Brazilians
Brazilians still have the United States as one of the most popular destinations. The good news is that the price paid for luxury accommodations in several American cities has dropped, including favorites from New York (9%), Miami (6%) and Orlando (3%).

Washington DC
The average price paid fell 18% for travelers from Brazil and the luxury accommodations were 7% cheaper.
The best: the flowering cherry trees during spring and some of the best museums in the world.

Surfside
The city is close to Miami and is the perfect destination for those who want to enjoy Florida without the need to stay in Miami. The average price also dropped 18% for Brazilian travelers and rates in 5-star accommodations fell 17%
The best: beaches and shopping

Chicago
Full of charm and culture, Chicago had a price drop of 14% on average for Brazilian travelers and 14% in the luxury category.
The best: Memorable museums and a movie skyline

Boston
The average price paid fell 13% for travelers from Brazil and the rates in 5 stars fell 18%.
The best: clam chowder and fresh lobster

Sunny Isles Beach
Also in Florida, the city of Sunny Isles Beach had a drop in average price was 13% and 15% when reviewed the 5 star accommodations.
