The connection with nature is one of the attractions that moves the region of São Luiz do Purunã. In order to promote sustainable and conscientious rural tourism, the district annually hosts the nocturnal edition of the International Walk in Nature. Attracted in several countries, the event, which takes place on Saturday, April 7, at 6:15 pm, is organized in Brazil by the Brazilian Confederation of Popular Sports, Nature Walks and Social Inclusion (ANDA BRASIL). Currently, the “International Walk in Nature” project is present in more than 100 municipalities in the rural area of ​​Paraná and, in 2018, it has 145 editions that promote the tourist vocation of each region.

“The idea of ​​the Moonlight Circuit in Purunã is to explore in light of the full moon 12.8 km of rural roads and trails of São Luiz do Purunã and also know the inns of the region, such as the Varshana,” says Lincoln Moro administrator of Varshana and local supporter of the event. The degree of difficulty of the walk is moderate, but the course is democratic and can be completed by people of various ages and different levels of physical conditioning. About the International Walk of Nature

The “International Nature Walk” promoted by Emater in partnership with local governments, rural producers, SESC and local companies brings together more than 700 participants. The walks, which take place in several municipalities of Paraná, are accredited by the IVV – Internationaler Volkssportverband (International Federation of Popular Sports) and organized by the Brazilian Confederation of Popular Sports, Nature Walks and Social Inclusion (ANDA BRAZIL). The participants of the Walks win a book and when they complete 10 stamps on different hiking circuits they win a toast from ANDA BRASIL. In 2018, it is planned to carry out 137 walking circuits and 8 bicycle circuits in more than 100 municipalities in the interior of Paraná.

About São Luiz do Purunã

The district of São Luiz do Purunã is located 45km from the capital of Paraná, at the intersection of BR-277 and BR 376, between Ponta Grossa and Curitiba. The region concentrates great flow of the ring road that converges toward the state capital.

In the last 20 years, the district of São Luiz do Purunã has been outstanding in the development of rural tourism, supported by the presence of the gaucho culture and by the multiplication of leisure and tourism ventures.
