Texas will host major festivals in the second half of 2017

The various cities of Texas are preparing to host a number of festivals over the next few months, with offers for all audiences. Famous for hosting the SXSW (South by Southwest) festival, Texas attracts tourists from around the world who seek cultural experiences, rodeo, good music, and family activities. We list some events that are not limited only to music, but rather, offer several unforgettable and well Texan activities:

Palomino Fest & Pro Rodeo

The event starts August 31 and runs through September 3 at Uvalde County Fairplex, near San Antonio, and aims to bring together people of diverse styles and tastes to a party with lots of rodeo, music and fun, bringing up The true Texas style. The festival has a non-profit partnership with the Uvalde Festival and Events Association, a project of two brothers who, since 1996, have decided to live the dream of bringing quality entertainment to families in southwest Texas. In the Association, everything that is collected is donated.

Austin City Limits

Between 6th and 8th and also October 13th to 15th, Austin, the live music capital of the world will host the event, popularly known as ACL. The eight stages set up at Zilker Park will host more than 140 artists and bands. In addition, the event features a “mini festival” for children and fairs with various food and beverage options. Some names are already confirmed, such as Jay Z, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Gorillaz, Ryan Adams, Vance Joy and The Killers.

Whitney Pioneer Days 2017

On October 7, Downtown Whitney, on the way from Austin to Dallas, will host the festival with a variety of activities ranging from the sale of books and home decor to the main attraction of the party: car parade Classics. In addition, it is possible to enjoy martial band, floats and, of course, much carnival dance. For those who are breathtaking, the challenge is a 5-kilometer race.

Roots Reggae Houston 2017

Reggae changed the posture of society during the 1970s and united diverse cultures through music. With that in mind, Houston will hold an event on October 8 to bring out the best of rhythm. The lineup of the event is already with some confirmed bands, like Idiginis, King Baby, The High Mile, among others. The goal is to bring together music lovers to enjoy a Texas reggae, which has been influenced by other musical styles.

Houston Open Air

This festival is mainly aimed at rock lovers, especially hardcore and metal styles. The event will take place over the weekend of October 14 and 15 at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodland, Houston. Names like Five Finger Death Punch, Marilyn Manson, Prophets of Rage, Stone Sour, HaleStorm, Mastodon, Zakk Sabbath, Gojira, Steel Panther and Suicidal Tendencies have already confirmed presence for HOA17. The event also has many gastronomic options, one of them being the Brazilian Bistro, specialized in Brazilian food.

Mala Luna Music Festival

The festival is scheduled for October 28 and 29 in San Antonio, and its main objective is to bring fans of the most varied musical styles, generating a rich cultural exchange. Part of the proceeds from the sale of tickets will be donated to the Network for Young Artists, a local non-governmental organization that aims to encourage the participation of young artists in music and dance classes. The schedule for this edition is not yet confirmed, but to get an idea, in 2016, Steve Aoki walked through the stages of the event and then we can wait for hefty attractions.
