Thai hotel chain delivers luxury to South America

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, a leading Asian operator in the development of luxury hotels, resorts and spas, announces the arrival of the first Anantara hotel in South America, Anantara Maraú Bahia Resort, scheduled to open in July 2018. The resort will join the brand’s luxury portfolio after a $ 4 million renovation of the former Kiaora Eco-Luxury Resort and its launch marks the arrival of the first Asian flag in Brazil.

Perfect for a getaway, Anantara Maraú Bahia Resort will operate on a beautiful beach near the Bay of Camamu on the Maraú Peninsula in Bahia. Bringing the luxury of a five-star hotel with the sense of adventure to this extraordinary destination, guests of Anantara Maraú can arrive in style by disembarking from the plane at the resort’s private airstrip.

The surroundings of the lush forest create a natural paradise of tranquility. Sun worshipers can enjoy a tropical climate all year round, with pleasant temperatures ranging from 23 ° C to 32 ° C. Valuing Bahia’s ecotourism, the resort’s natural design and thatched roof blend perfectly with the exotic gardens. The extensive lawns are dotted with palm trees swaying towards the pristine beach of white, soft sand.

Luxurious accommodations in harmony with nature will engage guests in the luxurious comfort of the Anantara brand and its signature amenities, initially with 30 rooms, suites and bungalows. Soon the hotel will be expanded and will offer new suites and bungalows facing the beach and also in the garden, some of them with private pool. Guests can cool off in the large swimming pool and relax on loungers located on the central island. Sports enthusiasts may enjoy a work-out in the gym, play tennis and beach volleyball. The Anantara Spa days offer beauty and wellness options.

Unique gastronomic experiences can be experienced through contemporary cuisine with touches of Bahian cuisine and local ingredients. Guests can expect grandiose restaurants as well as casual, pool and beach bars. Romantic guests can experience a tailor-made special dinner through Dining by Design, prepared by a personal chef and butler, with a choice of idyllic locations, including an intimate table on the beach, whether admiring the sunset or under the stars . The fishing expeditions will have a gourmet outcome, because the catches will be delivered to the Anantara chefs to prepare dishes with the seafood.

The natural and cultural highlights of Bahia promise captivating local experiences. Equestrian enthusiasts can ride horses through the sands to the Carapitangui River. Exciting quadricycle adventures will be experienced along the trails of giant bromeliads and lagoons. Boat trips will attract nature lovers to the incredible Tremembé waterfall and its natural pools, as well as to the nearby tropical islands. For those who want tranquility, there will be the option to stand up paddle along the coast, admiring the peninsula of Ponta do Mutá at sunset. Hurried waves beckon surfers. Taipus de Fora boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil and challenges divers to descend the turquoise natural pools with live corals. Offering the gifts of nature and spirituality, the Piracanga Inkiri experience combines self-knowledge, education, arts and food in a unique local experience.

“We are delighted to announce our first Anantara of South America in Bahia, Brazil. The 30-room boutique resort will be the perfect complement to the brand’s luxury portfolio and represents its arrival to the Atlantic Ocean, the first property in the Americas. We look forward to seeing this launch in 2018 and bringing authentic brand luxury to Brazil, “said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, the parent company of the Anantara brand.

Anantara currently operates 39 hotels and resorts in 13 countries in Asia, the Indian Ocean, Africa, the Middle East and Europe, with launches of new properties scheduled for 2018 in Brazil, Tunisia, Vietnam and China.
