Tourism agencies point to more than 10% growth in sales of luxury travel in Brazil

Virtuoso announced during the 29th edition of Virtuoso Travel Week a survey with its Brazilian agencies on trends in luxury travel for this second semester and year-end holiday.

In addition to pointing out Brazil’s preferred destinations and travel goals, more than half of the consultants surveyed say their sales exceeded that of the same period last year by more than 10 percent. Even with the majority pointing to increased revenue, 73.68% of consultants claim that the economic crisis is impacting the decisions of those seeking an agency to schedule a trip.

Still in relation to sales, 21% of respondents said their agencies sold up 10% more than last year, and 15% say they have maintained sales levels. Among the agencies that said they are selling less than in 2016, 5% say they are earning up to 10% less than in the past and another 5% say they have reduced sales by more than 10%.

The survey also showed which destinations should be most sought after for year-end travel. Among the nationals, Trancoso and Fernando de Noronha lead, and abroad, the United States and Italy remain the preferred.
