Turkey presents itself to Latin America

During the first day of WTM Latin America 2018, Turkey was among one of the busiest stands. Throughout the day, the destination and its 15 co-exhibitors show a little more of the Turkish culture for the visitors, who were able to enjoy the food, coffee and tea, and were presented to Ebru, a classic technique of Turkish painting.

For the representatives of Turkey, the day was also positive. With the schedule full, they attended journalists, travel agents and tour operators in the region. According to Ahmet Çanga, Attaché of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office, the first day had a very positive result “with visits from operators and agents, we were presented with new ideas and new visions on how to promote Turkey as a destination in the region, and that’s an excellent return for us. ”

During the meetings the growing number of Brazilians visiting the country was announced, and the good expectations for the coming years. The idea of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office is to present other cities in the country, which also have great tourist potential, but are not so explored by the Brazilian public who end up preferring classic destinations such as Cappadocia and Istanbul. “The event is a great opportunity to network, meet and interact with travel companies not only in Brazil, but also in Latin America. We were very happy with Turkey’s participation in WTM Latin America 2018, and with all the possibilities being built, “said Ahmet Temurci, Assistant General Manager of Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The big moment for the visitors to the booth on the day was the presentation of Ebru art. The artist Garip Ay presented the traditional technique of painting and drawing in black water for the Latin American public and visitors from other continents. “It was my first visit to Brazil. Here I could find new colors, and we could share a bit of Anatolia with the public, “said Garip Ay.
