Company announces acquisition of 60 aircraft

In order to supply the need for the acquisition of wide body aircraft, Turkish Airlines decided to purchase 50 of these models and 10 options, a total of 60 units, six of which will be delivered in 2019, 14 in 2020, 10 in 2021, 12 in 2022, 11 in 2023 and seven in 2024. Of this total, 30 will be from Boeing, B787-9, (25 + 5 optional) and 30 from Airbus, with A350-900 (25 + 5 optional).

It is also worth noting that the Company signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Airbus in January at the Élysée Palace in Paris during the official visit of its Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to French President Emmanuel Macron. In addition, in September 2017, during President Erdoğan’s participation in the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Boeing and Turkish Airlines announced the commitment to order 787-9 Dreamliners.
