Ship begins 2018 edition of the Cruise Around the World

On January 6, Costa Luminosa, from Costa Cruises, left Venice for the 2018 edition of the “Around the World” cruise. In 106 days, guest Costa visits the most wonderful thing on the planet in a trip that will cross three oceans and 41 international destinations before returning to the Italian city on April 22.

The traveler has the unique opportunity to tour the world in just three months, following the route taken by the great navigators of history, as well as discovering different cultures and landscapes. For those who missed the opportunity this year, the 2019 edition of the “Around the World” cruise is already scheduled: the ship will leave Venice on January 5, 2019.

About 2,000 guests from 30 different countries have booked a booth for the Costa Rica’s 2018 World Tour. The oldest passenger is a 92-year-old Italian, while the youngest is a one-year-old.

The Costa Cruises “Around the World” will pass through fascinating destinations like Antilles, Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala and California. After crossing the Pacific Ocean, the trip will continue through Hawaii, Polynesia, Fiji Islands, Australia and Indonesia, ending with stops in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Greece.

One of the highlights of the trip is the longest stop in destinations such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sydney, Singapore, Phuket, Kochi, Mumbai, Dubai and Muscat. In these places, the Coast guarantees shore excursions and special tours. From the port of Quetzak in Guatemala, for example, Costa can take a plane to visit the archaeological site of Tikal, one of the largest cities of the ancient Mayan civilization, and visit its ruins while walking along the rainforest trails.

The cruise includes a stop in the city of Los Angeles where guests can stroll along the Walk of Fame and stroll through the 2,500 bronze stars that honor celebrity names from showbiz and go through Universal Studios’ sets. The traveler will also have the chance to take a 30-minute helicopter tour of US West Coast sights.
The more adventurous one has the option of taking a very adrenaline tour in Sydney, Australia, climbing the famous Sydney Harbor Bridge. The route is made in three hours and ends with a spectacular 360 degree view of the city.
