Australian tourism boosts growth

Australia again celebrated a healthy growth of tourists in 2017. Tourism Australia data show that during the month of November, 776,900 visitors arrived in the country, a rise of 7.6% over the same month in 2016.

The annual aggregate shows that 8.7 million (+ 7.1%) of visitors landed on the destination until the penultimate month of the year.

Brazil, in particular, will end the year with the highest rate of emission of travelers from its history to destination. With about 5,000 Brazilian tourists on Australian soil in November, the annual total comes to 54.9 thousand (+ 19.6%) against 47.3 thousand in 2016.

The Brazilian highlight is the exchange market, since more than 16 thousand traveled to Australia for student purposes.

In South America, after Brazil, Chile (24.5 thousand) is the leader in the destination of tourists, followed by Argentina (22.6 thousand), Colombia (15.7 thousand), Peru and Uruguay.
