Madeira restaurant inaugurates high-gastronomy festival

Between 10 and 13 of March, the Madeira Archipelago gives the start to the Festival Route of the Stars 2018, event of the high gastronomy world-wide promoted in restaurants starred of north to the south of Portugal. Located in the luxurious The Cliff Bay hotel, the renowned Il Gallo d’Oro was chosen for the opening of the festival, which is in its ninth edition and will also come to Brazil.

At the first stop on the route, the three tasting dinners will be prepared by host chef Benoît Sinthon, a Frenchman based in Madeira Island. The menu of Il Gallo d’Oro brings out the refinement of the aromatic cuisine, using Mediterranean and Iberian cuisine as inspiration and always highlighting fresh produce and high quality ingredients. The gastronomic experience is still extolled by the magnificent wine list.

The Star Route will be attended by 11 invited chefs, from Portugal and other parts of the world, who will visit the restaurants that host the festival. Among them is Kazuo Harada, award-winning Brazilian chef who runs the also-starred Mee restaurant, located in Belmond Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro. Even after visiting Madeira’s land, the capital of Rio will be the next destination of the Stars Route, between April 24 and 28.
