China receives 160 new commercial aircraft in the first half

If you have a booming market when it comes to commercial aviation, we are talking about China. National carriers introduced to the market no fewer than 160 new aircraft during the first half of the year, expanding the domestic total fleet to 3,047 aircraft by June 30.

The data are from the Civil Aviation Bureau of China. The growth in this case is considered solid because the new equipment has not come to replace older aircraft.

The most popular aircraft of this amount was the B737-800 with 56 new units, followed by the A320 (35 units) and A321 (20 aircraft). When separating the arrivals by month, in January they were 28 units, 15 in February, 22 in March, 34 in April, 22 in May and 39 now in the month of June.

The highlight goes to China Eastern Airlines, which introduced three B777-300ERs to the fleet, expanding the number of widebodies of the same model to 19 units, while China Southern Airlines received five A320neos in the first six months and Air China and China Southern received 2 B787-9s each. Hainan Airlines still received three B787-9s.
