Avianca Brasil will have direct flight between Salvador and Bogota

Increasingly international, Avianca Brazil today announced direct flights between Salvador and Bogota, Colombia, where Avianca Holdings’ hub is located, next to a merger with the company headed by Frederico Pedreira. The service will be weekly and will start on September 15th.

With the A319, the new flight, numbered 8502, will leave Salvador every Friday at 19:15, arriving in Bogotá at 11:30 p.m. Conversely, flight 8503 will depart from the Colombian capital on Saturdays at 00h30, landing in Bahia at 08h45. Local timetables.

“Salvador is one of the focal cities in our network, with direct links to eight destinations. For São Paulo alone, there are eight daily operations. We have identified a strong demand for passengers who prefer to travel to Colombia or to other countries in the Americas via Bogotá, the hub of our partner Avianca Internacional. The advantage for these customers is that they do not need to go down to Rio de Janeiro or Guarulhos to take international connections, “said Pedreira.

The flight from the capital of Bahia takes advantage of the fiscal incentive of the local government and intensifies the promotion of the Bogota hub of Avianca Internacional as an option to reach the Caribbean and North America, as they advanced to the PANROTASo newspaper president and the board of the Brazilian company. Although Miami is considered the first destination of the Avianca Brasil internationalization project, the airline was already performing the Fortaleza-Bogotá service, also thanks to the state government of Ceará, which reduced ICMS on aviation kerosene. Tickets are now on sale on all Avianca Brasil channels, which have recently started flying to Miami and already have a scheduled date for their service to Santiago.
