Company consolidates in Brazil and incorporates São Paulo in its network of destinations

Since yesterday (26), the airline division of the largest Spanish tourism group, Globalia, will operate its daily flight in the capital with a Boeing 787-8, aircraft specially designed for long flights, combining maximum comfort with excellent environmental performance and can reduce flight time by up to 40 minutes. The first flight with the new aircraft leaves from São Paulo towards Madrid with more than 85% of occupation.

With the incorporation of São Paulo to the Dreamliner fleet, Air Europa reinforces its bet in Brazil, initiated in 2003, when the company began its operation with the route between Salvador and Madrid, and in 2013, linking São Paulo to Europe. In addition, the airline grew and positioned itself in the Brazilian northeast, adding Recife to its destination network in December 2017 and strengthening the commitment with the country.

During the past year, Air Europa has transported more than 260,000 passengers between Brazil and Spain, a figure that shows an increase of 4% over the previous year and which shows the good performance of the Brazilian market for the airline. The company’s routes to and from Brazil also recorded excellent occupancy levels, with an average of 90%, which was assured by Globalia’s Executive Director, Javier Hidalgo, who expressed his great satisfaction in operating in the country with the most modern aircraft and efficient Air Europa fleet throughout the world and also announced the 28% increase in the number of seats offered.

Hidalgo, accompanied by the deputy general manager of the airline, Richard Clark; the delegate general of America, Diego García, and the director general of Air Europa in Brazil, Enrique Martín Ambrosio, announced that the airline currently holds 7% of the market share between Europe and Brazil, a percentage that should increase the numerous advantages that the company offers to the passenger, both in relation to the modernity of the fleet, as well as on-board services and the best value for money.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner combines the most comfortable interior with excellent environmental performance, reducing fuel consumption and emissions by 20% and acoustic impact by 60%. The 787-8 seats 296 passengers, of whom 22 fly in Executive class and 274 in economy class. In the Business class, the seats are fully flexible to ensure maximum passenger comfort.

Air Europa also announced the destinations to which it will fly later this year, as is the case of the European cities of Venice, also in March; and Düsseldorf, as of June; as well as the increase of frequencies to other European destinations, and to different destinations in Latin America.
