The Marriott hotel chain has just announced a unified membership package for Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), which will be implemented starting in August this year. The result will be a loyalty program that will give the chance to accumulate points faster than in previous programs – on average, 20% more points for every dollar spent.
Members will be able to make reservations and redeem points in 29 brands made up of 6,500 hotels in 127 countries and territories. Attractions and tours that can be purchased in cash by all guests will be available.
“We listened to travel inspirations and decided to expand the potential of loyalty programs,” said David Flueck, senior vice president of global fidelity, Marriott International. “Beginning in August, travelers will be able to book hotel-wide portfolios for the first time on the website or even by contacting the customer relationship centers.”
To facilitate redeeming points, all hotels in the portfolio that are participating in loyalty programs will no longer display restricted dates. In addition, everyone will also adopt the Free Night Award, with prices for high and low season and half season. The classification will be presented in August, with prices of half station. For high and low season will be presented only in 2019.
The digital experience on mobile devices will also be enhanced. By booking directly on the websites, the partners can choose between participating hotels. Also, they can will be check in and check out, receive notifications about their suites and receive Room Ready Alerts by talking directly to hotels through hotel applications.
